Mirjam at Zambia

From September 2024, Mirjam will be living and working in Zambia. She will teach the children of Jan and Roos as a teacher and also work as a remedial educationalist in the therapeutic center.

Mirjam says, “I have long dreamed of embarking on a meaningful adventure like this and have always been convinced that God would bring this to my path at the right time.

When someone asked me if Elyada Center wasn’t something for me, it felt like the right place from the first moment of contact. It is my passion to be able to contribute to the development of children and young people. I look forward to learning and growning here on this beautiful farm.”

Mirjam is volunteering for two years and thus working unpaid for the van Vuuren family. Because Mirjam largely takes over the children’s schooling and supports Roos, this frees up Jan and Roos to spend time making the farm profitable. And with this, even more people in need can be helped.
