How It All Started

Tree of Life – formerly called Charity Hands until mid-2021 – was founded in 2006. Christian and Pieter both had a desire to obey Jesus Christ and both witnessed poverty that touched their hearts.

Christian had been raising funds for a network of municipalities in India for some time and Pieter did an internship at Steven and Truus’ Salem project in Cameroon. They decided to set up a foundation that would work on self-sustaining projects that would reduce physical and mental poverty over a long term period.

Last September, Tree of Life celebrated its fifteenth birthday! A lot has happened in recent years.
