Plan of Action

‘Samenredzaamheid’ means ‘togetherness’ in Dutch. It very accurately describes what Tree of Life aims for: people who become self-reliant through collaboration.

Long-Term Impact

We help to set up self-sufficient projects which gives poor people a chance to build a better life for themselves. Although it sometimes feels like a hopeless situation, we believe that we can make a difference in people’s lives. We look for interventions with a long-term impact. In doing this, we want to give hands and feet to the love of Christ.

We set up projects based on local demand and in collaboration with local partners. This includes agricultural training, training on financial stewardship, professional training and start-up capital in the form of microcredits. But also: setting up medical posts, caring for widows and orphans, and educating children and youth.

Customization

An action plan is always tailor-made; no country and no project are the same. Broadly speaking, a plan can look like the following: first of all, we make contact with local leaders, then we investigate what the need is, together we draw up a plan, the locals implement it, and Tree of Life offers coaching and sources financial support. We pray for the projects and give thought to practical matters for work every day.

Plan of Action

“I believe in the work that we are doing. We are working to ensure that projects can continue and people can stand on their own two feet even if we pull the plug from a project.”
