Welcome to Elyada Center Zambia
Restoring land and lives through faith, sustainability, and compassion.
Pillars of the Center
Elyada Center Zambia is a Christian NGO with a mission to bring restoration where it’s needed most — both in the soil and in the hearts of people. Our work is built on two foundations: Elyada Farm and our Counseling & Mental Health Program. These two parts are deeply connected, and together they express our faith in a God who heals and restores.
Regenerating Land at Elyada Farm
Elyada Farm is more than a farm — it’s a model for sustainable and regenerative agriculture. Located just outside Kabwe, we grow organic vegetables and raise ethically treated livestock, serving the local market including hotels and restaurants in town.
Our approach is rooted in permaculture and regenerative techniques, focusing on restoring soil health, capturing carbon from the atmosphere, and increasing the land’s ability to retain water — making it more resilient to climate change.
As part of this vision, we’re also developing several food forests — vibrant, self-sustaining ecosystems designed to produce food in small spaces. These serve as showcase models for schools, hospitals, and other organizations interested in growing food sustainably, even on a modest scale.
Whenever possible, we prioritize people over machines, creating employment opportunities and fostering community involvement. In addition, our small campground and B&B welcome guests who want to experience life on the farm and support our vision firsthand.
All profits from Elyada Farm directly support the second pillar of our work: mental health services for the people of Kabwe.
Restoring Lives Through Counseling
In Zambia, emotional and psychological support is still in its early stages, yet the need is great. Kabwe, a city of over 300,000 people, faces high levels of trauma, addiction, and emotional distress. At Elyada Center, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality counseling — regardless of income.
We train and deploy Zambian counselors to orphanages, gender-based violence clinics, and other community projects that want to offer emotional support but lack the expertise. Our team also organizes network meetings to connect all those involved in mental health across Kabwe, helping build a stronger, more unified support system.
We regularly host trauma healing retreats — weekend programs led by professional counselors, offering individuals a safe space to begin processing and healing from deep wounds.
To reach hearts beyond words, we use experiential forms of therapy like:
- Equine-assisted counseling — where our horses help build trust, confidence, and emotional awareness in ways words can’t always reach.
- Art therapy — giving people a creative outlet to express pain, hope, and healing.
- Play therapy — especially powerful for children, helping them process trauma in a safe, natural way.
These experiences go beyond language and culture, creating moments of connection and transformation that people never forget.
A Self-Sustaining Model
By funding our mental health work through the profits of Elyada Farm, we aim to become less dependent on foreign donations and more sustainable in the long term. We’re committed to building something that’s truly local — grounded in the Zambian context and shaped for long-term local impact.
At Elyada Center Zambia, we believe in the power of restoration and growth.
Together, we are building a future that renews both the land and lives — sustainably, hopefully, and with faith. Whether you are interested in sustainable farming, mental health care, or both — we warmly invite you to connect with Elyada Center Zambia.
There are many ways to get involved. Follow us on social media to stay updated on our progress and activities. We also invite you to pray for our work and the people we serve. Donations, large or small, are always warmly welcomed.
If you would like to join us on Elyada Farm for a longer period, or if you can contribute to the professionalization and expansion of our counseling team, please feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
