Solar Panels for Malawi

We need more solar energie to process and water the abundant harvests.
Will you help us?

A

The food forest has an enormously rich harvest, which cannot all be processed



High temperatures quickly spoil the harvest

Drying crops is a solution to this problem

r

We are still dependent on diesel generators because there are not enough solar panels

More solar panels = more processing capacity
The Tree of Life project in Malawi has been building a food forest over the past few years, which now produces a rich harvest. So much harvest, in fact, that it cannot all be processed. High temperatures cause vegetables, fruit, and herbs to spoil quickly. One solution to this problem is to dry the crops. This requires energy. Currently, there are too few solar panels, and the project is dependent on diesel generators.

Helping more malnourished children
With your contribution, we can install more solar panels and increase capacity. This will allow us to dry more food and help more malnourished children.

More water
More energy means more irrigation, resulting in even more abundant harvests.

More light
The training center will also be able to use lighting more often, allowing the children to follow their lessons better and for longer. You can help make the light shine!

What are the benefits and costs?

The complete solar panel project consists of five parts: the drying center, the family center (church, office, water tower), the food forest, the guesthouse and manager’s house, and the staff housing. The total cost of the project is €124,000, half of which has been raised by our partner Stand as One Ministry. The total amount of €62,000 that Tree of Life aims to raise includes the solar panels, scaffolding, batteries, inverters, cabling, labor, and other related costs.
